How Eating A Genesis 1:29 Diet Cured Me of Sickness & Disease

My name is Tamla O’Neal. I am co-owner, of Tahur Living, a scripture-based holistic lifestyle company. Over the past nine years I have served as a spiritual and holistic health mentor to many people. Prior to that, I spent 20 years of my adult life as a lecturer and housing retention consultant and analyst. For five of those 20 years, I served on the labor management and wellness committee for a local non-profit agency. I was sick for about 15 of those 20 years. I was prescribed various medications to control symptoms, but it wasn’t until 2009 that I was diagnosed with chronic neutropenia and lupus.

Thankfully, in 2008 I had begun a journey toward spiritual growth and renewal. Because I was rapidly becoming aware of the connection between mind, body, and spirit, I knew that Scripture held the answers to my healing. Through prayer, dietary changes, and just plain trusting in Yahuah, I experienced the healing I desired.

One thing I learned during my journey is that one third of deaths can be attributed to just three unhealthy behaviors: tobacco use, lack of physical activity, and poor eating habits. These behaviors often result in and exacerbate chronic disease. Heart disease, cancer, stroke, respiratory disease and diabetes account for two of every three deaths.

Furthermore, one out of every three years of potential life lost before the age of 65, is due to a chronic disease. More research is being done about optimizing health. Via the internet, we are privy to all sorts of information regarding healthier eating habits. From the Paleo Diet to the Mediterranean diet, to the Raw Food Diet, there are a great many alternatives being introduced in alternative diet circles about eating for longevity.

One thing that many do not understand, is the Scriptural relevance to being healthy, mind, body, and spirit. With all of these modern diet fads, it’s not hard to understand how a person could be utterly confused about which diet is the best diet. The one thing none of these diets mention, however, is that Scripture has outlined the best information regarding the best “diet” for us spiritually as well as physically.

In B’Rashyth/Genesis 1:29, our creator Yahuah laid out for us His original diet for humanity. This diet included vegetables, herbs, fruits, grains, and nuts that grow naturally from the Earth. Eating this scriptural-based diet provides you with the right balance of vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients from the inside out; which will help you feel your best and have plenty of energy. Eating this scriptural-based diet is also one of the best things you can do to prevent and control many health problems that we as a people have, such as: Heart disease, High blood pressure, Type 2 diabetes, & some types of cancer.

But we need to first understand that this way of eating is not some fad diet. Eating the way Yahuah intended for all mankind, means making changes that will greatly benefit you spiritually as well as mentally and physically for the rest of your life. Matching healthy eating with more physical activity will also help you get to a healthy weight, and stay there.

Yahuah designed the perfect diet for us in Genesis 1:29. This was a seeded, plant based diet. To begin to change your way of eating, you have to change the way you think about food. Remember, we didn’t eat meat, until mankind sinned. And though Yahuah “allowed” certain animals as food after the flood, most of these animals don’t even exist anymore.

Furthermore, we have to overstand, that we were not created to eat flesh. As such, not only is the eating of meat a reminder of our fall from the perfection in which we were created, eating meat is one of the leading causes of many diseases. The China Study, by Dr. T. Colin Campbell is one of the best non-scriptural books I’ve ever read regarding the harm meat consumption does to the body.

Pray and ask for guidance on the right food choices, and begin to make changes to the way you eat, one day at a time. Don’t be in a rush to introduce new foods and recipes right away. Start by changing how you prepare food you’re familiar with, like salad. Eliminate meat, and change your pasta to chickpeas, lentils or quinoa, and your corn to spinach or kale.

Research the origin and cultivation of the foods you eat. Become more aware of the factors that influence what and how much you eat so you can begin to make more informed eating choices.

Everyone’s journey is different. I lost thirty pounds, and received healing of my mind and body. I trusted Yahuah to heal me, and He did. But it took obedience, and a desire to please Him, to make it happen. I am a living witness to the goodness of Yahuah, and how obeying His word can lead to overall health, for your mind, body, and soul. And if he can do it for me, then He can do it for you!
